Our Vision and Mission
Our Vision
- The Solano County Orderly Growth Committee envisions a county that is a special place to live due to its unique blend of urban and rural features so near the San Francisco Bay Area
- We see a county with a thriving agriculture sector that offers citizens local produce and rural vistas
- We see a county whose cities are separated by greenbelts
- We see a county whose farmlands, hillsides, marshes and watersheds, and grazing lands are permanently protected
- We see a county where residents enjoy outdoor activities on protected natural lands, such as those owned by the County, our cities and The Solano Land Trust.
Our Mission
- To keep a vigilant watch over Solano County’s Orderly Growth policy and the long-standing County policy that “what is urban shall be municipal”, as adopted in the Solano County General Plan
- To champion voter-approved Urban Growth Boundaries to ensure that urban development is restricted to our cities
- To support the creation of a Countywide park district with funding for management and operations
- To help guide future growth into existing cities via in-fill and brownfield development in order to minimize encroachment into farmlands and open spaces
- To partner with local and regional organizations with shared values
- To support local elected officials with shared values
- To take political and legal action to protect local farmlands and open spac
